2011 NBA Mock Draft Sees Phoenix Suns Get Wing Help from Alec Burks
The Suns know the areas where they need serious help coming into this year's draft. With a roster in a state of limbo (are they rebuilding or reloading for another playoff push?), and the team's lone small forward worth anything (Vince Carter) likely headed out of the desert, Phoenix is focusing it's draft efforts on a swingman.
Fortunately, Alec Burks of Colorado provides them just what they need. He's exactly the kind of slasher the Suns need to replace Carter, and his athleticism and instincts make him a high-upside pick. He's a versatile scorer, and his defense is improving, but the talent is there.
He's not the best outside shooter on Earth, but Burks fills a big need for Phoenix, and gives them someone with upside who can contribute immediately, as well.

The Suns could chase Jimmer Fredette if he's here, or another forward like Tristan Thompson or Jonas Valanciunas, but Burks makes perfect sense.
