2011 NBA Draft Results: Marcus Morris Goes No. 14 to the Houston Rockets
After doing his time as a role player for Bill Self’s Kansas Jayhawks during his freshman and sophomore seasons, Marcus Morris truly blossomed into one of the country’s top forwards during his junior year.
Morris can capably play either the three or the four and is one of the more NBA-ready prospects that you’ll see drafted today.
Slightly more talented than his brother Markieff, Marcus has great post skills but can also step outside and calmly knock down a contested jump shot.
After averaging 17.2 points and 7.6 rebounds per game during this past season, Marcus truly has a chance to become a star player in this league just like he was in college. He’ll have to overcome a lack of size and length, but it appears as though he has the skill to do so.
One pick after his brother was announced at No. 13, Marcus gets to go to Houston at No. 14.
He's a great fit with the team and has incredible upside. The Rockets are probably thrilled that he fell this far.
Interestingly enough, the Morris brothers are now the first set of twins to ever be drafted in the same draft lottery.
