With the advent of the e-book, it is easier than ever to read a book on a tablet that controls the size of the words. Yes, now those who complain the words are too small (or too big) can take charge of their reading.
What does this mean for our beloved Boston Celtics?
Based on this past season, there may be a few weighty tomes for Celtics players to take with them on their travels.
We see Celtics already spreading out across the nation on the move, on vacation, and on escapes to nowhere. Since they are flying, we know they have endless hours sitting on planes and in airports.
To make the time pass and to improve their play for next season—if there is a season—we have prepared a special reading list for our favorite Green Team.
Perhaps reading these books will raise the quality of play, or perhaps inspire the team to win that elusive 18th banner.
Kevin Garnett should bone up on a story about old monsters that can come back to life: Jurassic Park.
Paul Pierce may be facing the mortality of life off the bench as he comes into the game: For Whom the Bell Tolls.
Ray Allen needs to know that Shannon’s cooking isn’t all that can bring a championship appetite: The Sweet Smell of Success.
Rajon Rondo may want to see what happens to a clever little man whose best friend is big and has anger management trouble: Of Mice and Men.
Jeff Green may want to study up on what happens to the player left out in the cold too long and needs to heat up fast: "To Build a Fire."
Avery Bradley may be facing another season in which everyone ignores him and no one sees much coming from him: The Invisible Man.
Jermaine O’Neal could do worse than read about an aging gunslinger that does the right thing and has the right attitude: True Grit.
Delonte West may want to learn more about how to channel his legendary wild life: King James Bible.
Doc Rivers probably should read the classic tale of a man who makes a deal with the devil to get the ultimate prize: Doctor Faustus.
Danny Ainge probably should read the story about men who go after the gold but find that even with hard work it can all blow away in an instant: The Treasure of Sierra Madre.
We suspect the remainder of the team is not among names we can presently identify. We will read up on trade possibilities and free agents this summer.
